In September 1994, we introduced the Direct Access Services (DAS). This fully computerized land search facility enabled clients to make on-line searches of land records through computer terminals at their own offices. Furthermore, the operating hours of DAS were longer than those of search offices. Since January 1997, subscribers of the services could obtain imaged copies through fax machine in their offices. Customers could hence enjoy the benefits of a convenient 'one-stop' search service without leaving their offices.
Following the implementation of a Central Registration System (CRS) in 2005, the then separate IT systems including DAS were replaced by the Integrated Registration Information System (IRIS) developed for CRS.
