Land Registration (Amendment) (No.2) Regulation 1996
1. | The Land Registration (Amendment) (No.2) Regulation 1996 gazetted on 25 October 1996 which will take effect on 9 December 1996 aims at ensuring that images of land documents captured in the Land Registry's Document Imaging System are of a good quality. |
2. | Some of the changes introduced by the amendment may have an impact on legal practitioners or other persons engaged in the preparation of documents for registration at the Land Registry. They are the requirements for documents to be in A4 size, and printed or written in black ink on one side only of white paper or azure ledger paper. These changes have been drawn to the attention of the legal profession. |
3. | In the interest of the smooth operation of the Document Imaging System and the quality of the land records maintained on the system, the new requirements should be strictly complied with unless permitted otherwise by the Land Registrar. Such permission will be given only in cases where there is genuine difficulty in complying with the requirements. |
4. | It is generally accepted that there may be genuine difficulty for some of the following documents to complying with the new requirements:
